It is our goal to encourage the hobby of numismatics, and to show that there is more to coins and currency that just face value. Our currency is a historical barometer showing where we were as a country. From the private mintage used in the earliest days of our founding, to the notes used by the north and the south in the Civil War, our currency has adapted to meet the needs of the people.
 

Even the Hawaiian note that we use in our site banner reflects this history. The US issued these notes in case the Japanese invaded Hawaii so the could declare the notes worthless.
